updated: Canadian Embassy - International Student

        The final Step before you go to Canada is to apply for the visa.

       Once you finished all your paper- University Acceptance letter etc... - it means that it is the time to send your application to the embassy to get the visa. Now this means that you will face a solid wall and you must pass it first to get the approval and gain your desire. 

        Firstly, I want to clarify that the Canadian Embassy is not like the others even not like USA Embassy. So you need to be careful about what you are including in your files and what is your situation to satisfy the Officer more than the government. So be careful to understand what I'm writing here: 

• Your Study plane must match with your education. to show the officer that you're going to complete your study not only to get there. and if your going to study English first try your hard to get conditional Approval from the University.
• Bank statement: you must cover your first year fees + 10,000 CAD minimum. 
• Your ties to your Country: it is vital crucial to do all your best at this point. You have to satisfy the officers at this point that you will leave Canada when you finish your study. So to convenience them you have to show what do you have in country make you come back to here. like ( Work , Family , Land , Company and investment) anything you can proof it. 
• SOP: Statement of your plan, write a letter and include it with your application to show what it is your desire and your plan of going to Canada. make it clear to satisfy them that you are leaving to enhance your career where you are living. 
• Fill up all the application forms with no mistakes. 
• include your CV and a paper from your current employer that you are working and you are going to regain your location again when you finish your education . 
• Include any paper that you think it'll help you with your application. 

Finally, I wish you all get the visa, that was my advices and keep in your mind it is not easy at all to get it. so be flexible and keep your expectation. I got Rejected before and I'm applying again. 

hint: If you got rejected don't send your paper again unless you have something new to connivance the officers. 

Let me tell you one thing. I got rejected :(.  
Advice: try to do more efforts to get and prepare everything before you apply again. 

Second IELTS exam- updated

        And I wish to be the last exam.

        Why I have stopped writing since a long time? I stopped writing before 3 months to re-prepare again for then next IELTS exam I need to take. And that was held today The 13 of October.
 
        Frankly, This exam wasn't took place to examine the candidates English skills, per contra it is a test of who speed you can write or read and how good are your ears with distinguishing the words. I want to take about the exam itself and what happened with me this time. So keep reading....

        This Time, It wasn't like the  previous time for one reason, that's because I have studied harder than before and I transferred to more top level that I was before. This time I re-studied the earlier book and finish the next book of Achieve Ielts then I continued to more 4 books and I have tested my ability to the exam. Honestly, I found myself really ready to hold the exam and score more than 7 this time.
 
        When I went to the Speaking test I was panic and afraid of getting less like before, I scored 5.5 last time, So I decided to be careless and more confident to speak as usual as I do. and that worked efficiently with me. I'm sure I'll score more than 7 or at least 7 this time. So I was so happy and ready to prepare my stuffs like booking my tickets and resign from my work place. After that, Today, was my Writing test. It was very hard not because of the test itself but because of the time. It was realy horrible to manage between the time and the questions I do the Listening test with some mistakes in the first section because I wasn't ready and stand, plus I think I did some spelling mistakes. Then at the reading test, this was very terrifying test,    as I imagine that I solved the first two sections perfectly but the last section I closed my eyes and circle the answers, so based on guessing theory I hope if I can get 25% from the third section. Finally, The writing exam, I was knew myself that I'm pretty good in writing I don't know what happened to me when I received the question papers. I forget how to write and how to manage the answers how to lay them on the paper. But I wrote as I can say It was good.

        So pray for me to score more than 6.5 at least this time, just to get the acceptance from the university and I swear the God I'll improve myself in English language during whole my life.

        P.S. I was sick today. :)

Updated: I scored 5.5, less than before. The idea is I scored more in reading 6.5 and I was thinking to score 7 at speaking but unfortunately I scored 5.5. The listening stay same but the writing decreased to 5.5 instead of 6. Anyway I'm going to Canada to improve my language and do the ielts again there. I'll never gave up.

The Syrian and Asylum right

As everyone know, Syrian people facing killing everyday even if they go to the nieghboring countries they will face starving and displacement as you can see in the below pictures in Jordan and Turkey.

Can you see to what extened they are suffering, we expected from these countries different way of helping to our people as we helped Lebanese and Iraqian before.  

Syrian people are facing the DIE outside and inside the country, they are in need to urgent assistant from other countries until this war end. 

Google Challenge & Human Rights Hypocrisy

Google Apps Developer Challenge 2012

It is an outrageous that Google took this action.

        Yesterday, when I was checking my email I found out that I received an invitation from Google to attend this challenge. Once I received the invitation i opened the Official Rules to make sure about what the challenge about at this time.

        The first two Line was " NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. CONTEST IS OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND WORLDWIDE, EXCEPT FOR QUEBEC, CUBA, IRAN, SYRIA, NORTH KOREA, SUDAN, and MYANMAR (BURMA)" .  Are you sure Google? Do the international sanctions of particular system includes and effects its citizens? Does this punishment on Citizens or System? What about Google against SOPA? What about your attitude to help the humanity? Or all of this are Hypocrisy?

I'm Syrian and I have the Full Right to attend this Challenge like a Human in this world. We are not body to exclude us from the community. If you are thinking that you are helping us I need to tell you that you are wrong. 

Volunteering: Join the green world

        Would like to be a part of the community?  

Volunteering: is to work in an organisation or agency with no money in exchange, in order help the people and the community to become better and more effective. 

        There are several ways to volunteer around the world, and can be performed by anyone with own set of skills,e.g: you can work in Education, Information Technology, Translating, Engineering, Since, Medical, Painting ...  Whatever knowledge or skills you have it could be of benefits to the community. 

       What are the benefits of volunteering? 

- Learn or develop new skill. 

- Be a part of your community or any new community you are willing to enter.

- Boost your career options. 

- Meeting a diverse range of people. 

- The feeling of satisfying. 

        I wanted to be volunteer since a long time, but while I'm living in a restricted country and everything here is restricted only to local people I felt frustration. Then when I was starting registering on UWO which I talked about in my previous post, I found that there are volunteering option I can do it over there. That motivate my mind to this question, why I'm not looking for doing volunteering online while I can't find my opportunity here, so I started looking for internet everyday and I found a million of online volunteering, Actually the best one I have found was the one which belong to UN "united nation". Most of these volunteering work intended to help the poor people and community, I saw an offer before asking about helping blind people and that impact me hardly. I wish I could help those people to become able to see one day. I'll start do my research everyday until I find my desire.

        When I was thinking about going on vacation solo to GREECE, my lovely place, I looked for a volunteering work to join the community and meet the local people and as I like to be as a part of Greek community, another dream, I have found a volunteering work in a camp which they were responsible on helping the stray dogs, also I found many volunteering works in hotels and hostels, those place they will offer you room where you can stay among your trip, and what was the best thing? is that you will meet new people, locals or foreigners, that exactly what do you want to do while you are in your trip abroad. 

        Finally, feel the pleasure and satisfying of this job and help the community to be more better. 

        You are more than benefits with any skills you have, utilize your skills in a good place.

Social network investment

          Firstly, Let us talk a little about the Investment in general. If you are the one of those who are working hardly for 8 hours or more per day to earn money only for your life expenses and necessity, I'm sure that you already have though about any other money resources. In example, part time work, doing some free lance or selling something that you don't need anymore. I'm not telling you that is wrong, but all this kind of works harness your life and time with a little income back. So why don't we start thinking of another way just like putting some of your savings in a place that look after it and grow it such as the stock investment. Beside it is really dangerous it is kind of easy money to be a millionaire one day and that's only if you learn how to invest and where to put your money in this field.

Do you know how social network sites make money?
- Venture capital.
Facebook and Twitter are a big example we can see that when Microsoft invest in Facebook or prince alwalid invest in Twitter.
- Advertising and e-commerce
Since social media services have more than million users, the huge companies are scrambling to advertise on them to promote their products. As this networks collecting information about what the users like, what pages they visit regularly and the users information so the advertisements appear only to the target users and that is the essential requirement to the advertiser.
- Offering premium options
While some social networks are completely free, others might offer a premium option to its users in attempt to earn money, LinkedIn, for example.
-  Products and promotions
Just like Facebook gifts, it allows users to send gifts to their friends with a cost $1
- Acquiring successful products 
If a products become more famous and beneficial to support this social network, they buy this product. Instgram and face.com are an examples acquired by Facebook.
- Offering the company stocks in the market
That is actually what have happened early with Facebook and others company and this what I'm willing to talk about.

Do you remember when Google started it's service called Google plus we all thought that Google+ is going to swallow the market instead of Facebook. despite it took a portion segment from the market but Facebook is still the leader in the social service.

Facebook offered 421 million share in IPO at price between 34$ to 38$ with total amount 104 billion dollar and that is 10 times the real price of the company and as a result of the rush to invest it reach 43$ which lead to dramatically fall in the price at the end of the date to 33$ and keep falling to 25$ with the next few weeks. After that when it reach the stable price and after the investments are did by Facebook and when they haring new specialist people to work with their new confidential project with apple, the stock started to raise again.  This is not the only case, actually it happened with Google on 2004 and now it is around 600$ price.


Let us talk about the future of Facebook on particular, do you think that Facebook are going to grow more on the near future or even on the far future? take a look about what is going on inside the company and about its investment and compare it with Google, Apple, LinkedIn, Groupon or Renren. All of these companies are a long investment and we are in middle of the Social service revolution. Think more deeply what will happen if Facebook started to generate its own share with Apple or even with Microsoft with all this technology it was already invented or bought. I can understand that some of you are afraid about investing in FB because it is not stable and there are a lot of rumors about FB collapse. I can't give you guarantee to invest in FB and no one can. Take the risk of you want to have the chance. 


I just want to mention here about RENREN company. It has started with a good start before but it fall down again and again when Facebook started sharing in IPO, but look on the other side RENREN is the most famous company in China providing social services. 


My view is why don't we invest in FB while it has a big chance in the near future. and the same with RENERN. Don't waste your money with ridicules things use the stocks as a moneybox whether you win or loss but the wining is the biggest potential.

Social Network services

The social network websites reached the pick and become the first way of connecting people all over the world. previously there were networks like hi5, my space, class mates and others. But nowadays everything got changed with the revolution of these new social networks, such as Facebook, Vkontakte and Renren. 

Facebook was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates , As of May 2012, Facebook has over 900 million active users from around the world, and ranked second globally with reference to Alexa : Facebook rank. I can remember that was Yahoo rank. Facebook is spreading rapidly and that attract the companies to invest and pay money in order to announce in it. We can classify Facebook as an International social network.

On topic of  International or National social network, Vkontakte is a Russian social network service popular in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Belarus . Although they are using Facebook but they are more addicted to Vkontakte than Facebook. As of March 2012, VK has 118.8 million accounts but has acknowledged that it has a major spam problem, I have seen that in Russian Today channel. Vkontakte is ranked 46 in Alexa's global Top 500 sites and is the fourth most visited website in Russia. I'm using this social service for 2 years ago. I remember when I registered on that website they were asking the users to use local phone number and one of my Ukrainian friend help me with that but now you can register according to your country code. You have to visit that website Vkontakte .

Even China has it's own service. The Renren Network is a Chinese social networking service  formerly known as Xiaonei Network, that is a copy of Facebook. It has been called the Facebook of China. Xiaonei was started in December 2005 by University of Delaware graduates Wang Xing. In August 2009, Xiaonei officially changed its name to Renren. As we know that Facebook are not allowed in China so that enforce Chinese people to use the local networks. 

There are more and more of social network services around the world but these are the major website of this kind of social service where people are sharing their thoughts, photos, videos, meeting new people or even playing game. That actually what attract the companies to advertise on this services. As these websites are gathering users information and collecting their interests they have massive Database it can helps the advertiser to choose a certain segment of people aims to raise sales and that is the way how social services acquiring money. 

As we notice no day passes unless we have to pass through this service at least to read news or checking up our friends.

University of Western Ontario - My dram

Since 2007 until now I'm still dreaming on this university. It is one of the best and most famous university in Canada, BTW, Canada is my main dream.

The University of Western Ontario, commonly referred to as Western, is a public research university located in London, Ontario, Canada. The university was founded in 1878 as the Western University of London, Ontario. The university became secular in 1908 and was renamed to its present name in 1923. The university ranking for 2012 is 12 for national universities and 182 for the international ranking. with reference to UWO ranking

Once I graduated from my college on 2008 I decided to complete my master at this university but the cost for international students is very high, unfortunately I didn't born with a golden spoon in my mouth, therefore the first step to achieve my aim is to collect the money. The total cost for master study is 24,000$ plus the life expenses with 1,000$ a month, tally, It is 36,000$  for 1 years of study and the life expenses. Ooooooh. I can see your reaction, But kindly wait there are more news will shock you. When I started applying and submitting my paper for initial approval I got the answer with refusal because my degree didn't score the minimum requirement to acquire the master degree, Honestly the didn't know that in my previous university there was a role to limit the number of students degree and the top student was with 80%. and me I was with 70%, actually I didn't look after the theoretical subjects :))). It can be conclude with One more semester as a foundation to gain a high score and achieve the approval on the master degree study.

The total cost after this year reach the 49,200$, OMG. Who will pay this amount of money. In fact I can open my own project with this amount of money. Hello..... I can collect for One year only anyway I'm going there.

Hmmmmm. After 2 years I can't expect what will happen to me. So kindly visit my blog at that time to check whether I succeed or fail, whether I graduated from the collage or returned disappointed. It is my dream and I'm going to take this risk. Smile and wish.

IELTS writing - Race with the wind

I can't even remember what was my felling at that moments. I'm so upset cos of that exam.
It was horrible, you can't even take a breath, started with ugly inspector with no respect to the examiners.

Firstly they started with the listening section . You have to listen to a conversation between two person or a group and in the same time you have to answer the questions in your sheet book, honestly if you answered one for sure you will miss the second one because it was too fast and you can't catch all the information like numbers,place or dates in your mind and then to write them, then directly after that you have only 30sec to copy your answer to answers sheet paper. Believe me it wasn't English exam, it was speed test.

Then after that directly they gave you another sheet paper for reading you have to read 3 paragraphs and answer the questions, I don't want to AGGRESSIVE but there was no time to answer the questions. For me I couldn't read the last paragraph and I answered  in a speculation way. I thought they said we can have some minutes before writing exam but they didn't gave us that time and started to distribute the last test. Any way last portion was the easier one I had 1hr to write whatever I want to write, regardless of, I forgot all the words I prepared for this section I wrote too much words more than they asked me, hope not made a grammar mistakes :) .

Let me tell you something different. No Neeeed for IELTS Exaaaaam.


The University told me if you have studied with English language for 1 year at least you can get an exception. Then when I asked my previous university about this paper they gave it to me, wooooooow. So no need to do IELTS again. :)


Update: I scored 6.0 

IELTS - Speaking test

After all that training and preparations for this exam yesterday was the desired date.

I entered the exam with full of confidence and full of keywords which can help me with this interview. But unfortunately, I forgot everything when the examiner pressed the recording button, I forgot to talk in slow way with more attractive words I used to train about. The exam was so easy but I didn't do as well as I have to do because I stopped of talking about the subject he asked me about. Do you know Why?..

He asked me about the activity in Saudi Arabia and he doesn't know why I'm doing this exam in fact. I just wanted to stand and stop him with his head between my hands and shake it " Do you know why I'm doing this test? To answer this question about the place I'll be in the future". He doesn't know about this country that it doesn't has any real activity. It is just to work and work only. I don't want to be over pessimist but I'm not satisfied about this place and I don't want my kids to live here.

Anyway, even if I stopped at that question the others was good and I answered everything. I hope I didn't do any grammar mistake while I was talking.

Tomorrow is my next exam includes these sections " reading,writing, listening". I think I'm good with these too, So tomorrow is the final day of this terrible exam headache.

wish me luck and push me to gain my dreams. 

IELTS EXAM

Good morning.

In fact I'm preparing for IELTS exam these days. So if you see any mistakes with my writing pardon me I am still practicing to improve.

Why I'm using English instead of Arabic my mother language?
- I believe that the largest segment of the community use English language.
- English is the Academic language.
- And I want to practice :)

Hi there My exam on 7/6/2012 and 9/6/2012. I was practicing since 2 months ago. I wish to pass this exam with score 6.5, it is not a big deal, I can do it. Actually it is a nightmare. If someone of you reading this topic now and have had it before surely he understand what I'm saying. But why I need to score this band 6.5? because I'm planning to complete my study in Canada, and this is not restriction only to Canada , wherever I think to study i found this nightmare on front of me :( .... Unfortunately nothing to do else I need to score it.

I can't understand, how a person living in different language community can do the best in English language. Everything here is in Arabic even my dream, Sometimes, I woke up on sound of my neighbor wife yelling at her husband. I'd like to write what was the words but if i translate it to English it'll lose its humor sense.

Do you like English? me too, I was, but nowadays I hate it.

I am going to speak 7 languages minimum in the future. Just let me beat this language first. then I'll start with my lovely language French. :)
